Meet Steve…

Hi there, I’m Steve Carter, the founder of the Emergent See Service.

Over the thirty years I’ve spent in industry, I’ve come to learn that the majority of organisations, are only just scraping the surface of the vast potential that lies within their teams. They just somehow lack the knowledge, tools, or awareness of what is possible, and are usually struggling with “the tyranny of the immediate” we all face in our jobs and careers.

As technology is developing, and the challenges our society face grows many organisations are, and will continue, to struggle unless we take action. This is the purpose of this service.

In a career that has taken me around the world more times than I can remember, I have had the opportunity to develop and lead high performing teams at all levels and across all functions of a typical business.

In what feels like more than one lifetime, I have held roles, functionally speaking, in manufacturing and operations, new product development, supplier development, purchasing, supply chain and logistics, and business development. I have held positions at all levels, including holding global functional responsibility and several Managing Director roles. I’ve worked in businesses from the largest to the smallest in scale, run multisite enterprises, and been involved with strategic alliances, acquisitions, and Joint Ventures as well as negotiating several billion dollars worth of contracts along the way. I have set foot in more businesses, in more countries, than most people could imagine.

What has all of this taught me? Apart from providing me a vast knowledgebase of best practices and a bag of excellent tools for the analysis and improvement of all aspects of a modern business, it has shown me that the vast majority of organisations, even ones that think they are performing well, could be doing so much better, if only they could see what I see, and apply what I’ve come to know. Hence this venture.

To coin an old phrase, I want to “teach you to fish”, not only that, but I want to teach you to catch massive fish…..just like the one in the picture…..and the beauty is, it’s much easier than you might imagine.
